Toothache? Dentist in Wekerom for Harskamp, Ede, Otterlo and Barneveld

Do you have toothache, a broken tooth or swollen gums and you do not know where to go? Mondzorg Wekerom is a dental practice in the Kulturhus in Wekerom, in the municipality of Ede. We welcome new patients, including people who have come to the Netherlands from Ukraine, from Harskamp, Ede, Otterlo, Barneveld and the surrounding area.

I have toothache. What can I do?

Toothache is often caused by a cavity or by an infection at the root of the tooth. It rarely goes away by itself, so call a dentist.

• Call us on 0318-656338 and explain that you have toothache. We will do our best to help you.
• If you can, ask someone who speaks Dutch to call with you. You can also write to us by e-mail.
• Take paracetamol if needed and follow the instructions on the leaflet.
• Eat and drink carefully. Avoid very hot, cold, sour or hard food.
• Do you have a swollen cheek and a fever? Contact a general practitioner (huisarts) right away.
• Are you finding it hard to breathe or swallow because of swelling? Call 112.

Knocked-out or broken tooth

• Pick up the tooth by the crown (the white part), never by the root.
• Do not rinse it and do not scrub it clean.
• Keep it moist in milk, or in your mouth between your cheek and your teeth. Not in water.
• Call a dentist immediately. Time is important. Never put a baby tooth back.
• If a piece of tooth has broken off, keep it in a little milk and bring it with you.

What should I bring to my appointment?

• A valid identity document (passport or residence document).
• Your health insurance card (zorgpas) and your citizen service number (BSN).
• A list of your medicines, if you take any.

What does it cost?

The prices of dental treatments in the Netherlands are set every year by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). For adults, the basic health insurance does not cover the regular check-up. It does cover certain surgical dental care, X-rays and removable dentures. Many people have a supplementary dental insurance. Dental care for children under 18 is largely covered by the basic insurance. If you are unsure, please ask us about the costs before the treatment, and ask your health insurer what is covered.

Emergency dental care outside our opening hours

On Mondays, in the evening, at the weekend, on public holidays and during school holidays we work together with Dental365 Spoed Tandarts Ede, Telefoonweg 46, 6712 GD Ede. Call 0900-1515. Keep your BSN at hand, and bring your insurance card and a valid ID. Dental365 provides first aid. Any follow-up treatment takes place at your own dentist. You pay by debit or credit card.

Which places do we serve?

Mondzorg Wekerom is easy to reach: Harskamp, Otterlo and Barneveld are about 5 minutes away by car, Ede about 10 minutes, and of course we are right in Wekerom itself. Our team has also visited the reception centre for people from Ukraine in Harskamp to demonstrate tooth brushing and to hand out toothbrushes, toothpaste and information.
